NJ ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria Township Committee establishes formal requirements for volunteer fire and emergency services contributions. The committee approved a $7,194 contribution to Pattenburg Volunteer Fire Company for the 2025 fiscal year, ending a payment hold stemming from audit and governance concerns flagged by Mayor Jim Kiernan, including late financial documentation, excessive legal fees, and lack of fundraising. Resolutions 2026-089 and 2026-092, approved unanimously, mandate that all fire and EMS squads submit audits by December 31, spend at least 50 percent of contributions on equipment and supplies, and file quarterly reports with the township attorney or forfeit that year's funding.
The committee also authorized CFO Noon to apply for Hunterdon County's 2026 Pooled Note Finance Program and discussed revising the contribution distribution formula to account for assessed property values and call volume.
